Before and After Photos

Office Interior Repaint With a Burgundy Accent Office, Waiting Room, Hallway and Restroom
This office suite needed wall repair as much as paint. The before photos show a restroom with pale blue walls and large peeled and patched areas, a mint green front office with chipped paint and debris along the base, and a hallway of yellow walls with gouges near the doors. In progress, the waiting room has white joint compound patches spread across warm yellow walls. Chairs are wrapped in plastic, a ladder stands in the middle, and drop cloths cover the plank floor. The finished waiting room has smooth light greige walls with clean white baseboards around the windows and front door. The restroom is now a calm gray-green that hides wear. One private office has deep burgundy red walls behind the desk, and the open work area went from mint green to a warm dusty rose. The drop ceilings and floors were left as they were.
Our Commercial Process for Repairing and Repainting Office Walls
- We worked one room at a time. Chairs, desks and office equipment were moved to the center or wrapped in plastic, and drop cloths covered the plank floors.
- Peeling paint in the restroom was scraped back to a firm edge. Loose flakes along the baseboards in the front office were cleaned up before any repair work started.
- Holes, gouges and torn drywall paper were filled with joint compound. The white patches in the waiting room photos show this stage before sanding.
- Every patch was sanded smooth and spot-primed. Torn drywall paper and bare compound must be sealed, or new paint can bubble or show the patch outline.
- Walls were cut in at the ceiling grid, door frames and baseboards, then rolled with two finish coats. Bold colors like the burgundy office needed full, even coverage.
- We finished by pulling plastic, putting furniture back, and touching up baseboards and trim so each room was clean and ready for staff and visitors.
Paint Colors Similar to This Office Waiting Room and Restroom
These are similar colors to consider for office walls like these. They are not the exact paint colors used on this office job.
Sherwin-Williams Agreeable Gray SW 7029
A soft greige close to the new waiting room walls. It looks clean and calm and works with wood chairs and gray plank floors.
Sherwin-Williams Evergreen Fog SW 9130
A muted gray-green in the same direction as the restroom walls. It feels fresh and hides everyday wear better than pale blue.
Sherwin-Williams Extra White SW 7006
A crisp white for baseboards, door frames and window trim. It frames darker walls neatly, like the trim through this office.
Questions About Painting a Commercial Office
Can you paint our office while we stay open?
Often, yes. Many office jobs are done room by room, after hours, or on weekends so staff and clients are not disrupted. Furniture is moved or covered, and work areas are kept tidy each day. Low-odor paints help in spaces that are in use soon after painting.
Why do some office walls peel or show patches through paint?
Peeling often comes from moisture, poor prep, or paint applied over dirty or glossy walls. Patches show through when joint compound is not sanded and primed before painting. Fixing the cause, scraping loose paint, patching, and priming are the steps that keep a commercial repaint looking even.
What paint finish works best in an office restroom?
Restrooms see moisture and frequent cleaning, so satin or semi-gloss is usually the safer choice. These sheens resist moisture better than flat and wipe down easily. A good exhaust fan also helps paint last longer. Bathroom-rated paints with mildew resistance are a common pick for these rooms.
